As you first launch, your guide will begin with the rich history of north central Florida waterways and how Orange Lake fits into its tapestry. Then he'll dive into the vast array of creatures that call this delicate ecosystem home, from the vibrant birds flitting through the trees to the gentle ripples of creatures both on top and below the lake's surface. You’ll quickly gain a deeper appreciation for the intricate balance of nature here in Florida. Keep a watchful eye for our beloved ibis, sandhill crane and, since Orange Lake is known to have the second largest population of alligators in the state of Florida, there's a good chance you'll spot one or two along the way.
